Who, what, where, by what means, why, how, when? 1996. Cement and paint. 5 x 5.6 x 23 m.
The memory of this place tells us that the route of the road that passes over this tunnel coincides with an ancient Roman road.
This information forms the basis for the interpretation of the work: the tunnel was painted red to contrast with the rather dry surroundings. Inside, in large gold letters, seven questions appear, forming a Latin hexameter that encloses what in rhetoric are called circumstances.
Written in Latin along one wall and in Valencian on the other, the questions are:
WHO, WHAT, WHERE, BY WHAT MEANS, WHY, HOW, WHEN?
A mental provocation that, after passing through the tunnel, makes you emerge with new thoughts.
