Medusea

1996

Medusea 1996. Polyester. 13 pieces, 2 meters in diameter.

The jellyfish scattered across Las Arenas beach in Valencia evoke a sense of wonder, joy, and respect experienced when witnessing a life form seen for the first time.
In this case, it is a very temporary installation, which behaves just like jellyfish:
Suddenly they appear and suddenly they are gone.
By using polyester as a material completely foreign to the place, the dialogue created here is one of confrontation between the natural and the artificial.
Its association with distant places creates a world of imagination, where the landscape itself has become a magical space.
