Fosforita-Fosforita

1996

Phosphorite Phosphorite 1996. Burned trees, paint, polyester. 21 pieces, approximately 4 meters high.

At the same time that Benicadell Mountain was devastated by fire, a ravine in Castello de Rugat burned down in Gandia, Spain.
My project was to transform a quantity of burnt pine trees into giant matches.
I respected the position of each pine tree, whether it was standing or lying down, and after having undergone a metamorphosis, the trees seemed to be dangerously alive again.
In this educational and waste recycling project, the matches created become nature itself.
